Sennheiser HD 280 vs Sony MDR 7506

Sennheiser HD 280 and the Sony MDR 7506 are two excellent headphones with improved features and usabilities. But, testing all the combinations of these two earphones, I strongly recommend you go with Sennheiser HD 280.

Why I Recommend Sennheiser HD 280?

  • Sennheiser HD 280 is featured with 113dB sensitivity that will give you louder sound with quality while listening to music. On the other hand, the Sony MDR 7506 has 106dB sensitivity which means it can not provide you with louder sound than the other one.
  • It provides you with a 25000 Hz frequency response that ensures accurate sound quality with high, middle, and low sound volume. But, the Sony MDR 7506 offers you a 20,000 Hz frequency response which offers less precise sound quality.
  • This headphone is combined with 64 ohms nominal impedance to deliver crystal clear and transparent sound quality. On the other hand, Sony MDR 7506 is featured with 63 ohms nominal impedance, which is a bit less potent for offering quality audio like the Sennheiser HD 280.
  • The HD 280 is a lightweight headphone of 0.63 lbs that will let you a comfortable user experience with a longer listening time. But, the Sony 7506 is a heavy-weight earphone of 2.94 lbs.

To get the best user experience with better headphones, I strongly suggest you go with the Sennheiser HD 280. It offers higher sensitivity, more frequency response, and nominal impedance to ensure its quality sound. Most importantly, it is a lightweight headphone.
